Other Information | Midland Red (North) was formed in 1981 with operations in Shropshire, Staffordshire and the West Midlands when Midland Red was split up. Midland Red North was sold to Drawlane Transport Group in 1988, this in turn was sold to British Bus in 1992. In 1996 the company was again sold, to the Cowie Group which in turn became Arriva, trading as Arriva Midlands North for the first few years. The Crewe, Macclesfield and Winsford depots were transferred to Arriva North West in 2003. In 2007 Arriva took over Chase Coaches with these operations moving to Cannock depot. In 2008 Arriva sold the Hinckley depot to Centrebus. In 2010 Arriva purchased Wardle Transport of Stoke-on-Trent. In 2011 Arriva purchased the Staffordshire operations of D&G Bus. In 2012 Arriva also took over the depot in Wednesfield of Midland, which was also part of D&G Bus. In 2015 the Wardle Transport operations were sold to D&G Bus. In 2016 the company sold its Burton upon Trent services to Midland Classic. In 2017 the depot in Wednesfield was closed, some of the services passing to Diamond Bus West Midlands, others moving to other Arriva depots. In 2021 the Cannock depot was sold to D&G Bus.
