Będący już cieniem swej dawnej świetności wielki producent wagonów kolejowych, tramwajów i trolejbusów z Chicago dostarczył w okresie 1975-78 do Nowego Jorku 754 wagony serii R46. Wszystkie za wyjątkiem dwóch kursują do dziś, obsługując linie A, F, R i S-Rockaway Park.
